The Champion:
And yes that´s true. In it´s third week "Miami Vice" got the number one and is the new king of the box-office in Portugal. With a 23% drop to 54460 spectators it managed to pass Superman and become the surprise of the week and at the same it to share the price of the winner of the week simbolized by the green, yellow and red of the portuguese flag. Well done Mr Mann and thank you for this beautiful film.
The New Players:
At number 7 we find the first new opener with 17780 spectators and that´s "The ANt Bully" that got a bad result due to the onslaught of animation movie. Almost every week there is a new one and this gold mine will one day end. I think it is beggining now.
"Stick It" found it´s way to number 9 with 11086 spectators and a better than expected average of almost 700. Did well considering the lack of stars and the not so interesting story Portugal wise. But i think it was the same in the U.S right?
In 13th place we have "Find Me Guilty" the serious vehicle for Vin Diesel didn´t convice anybody. Not even him. Fat and bald doesn´t give an actor credibility, still it´s his best work ever (the comparison to other films are not favorable.
"Imagine Me and You" in number 17 with 2225 spectators
And finally "Shangai Dreams" the chinese movie with 1126 spectators in just one theather. Very impressive for this very well respected chinese director of festivals around the world.
The Winner of the Week:
This one was a difficult one but "Luck Number Slevin" with it´s -2% week and only 10% drop in 4 weeks in exihibition marks it´s good run in here. As for "Miami Vice" it´s for taking the top place in it´s 3rd week. COngrats for them.
The Looser of the Week:
This is a no brainer. A very bad, close to disaster week of "Superman Returns". A 50% drop to 47380 spectators. What happened? No action tha´t´s what happened. People falling asleep in cinema theathers.
See ya next week with more box-office In Portugal.

The Champion:
And the bew champion is one that was forgotten for the new generation. Even for mine it would be if someone didn´t see the first one in 1978. What´s that? A Bird? A Plane? No it´s "Superman Returns".
This classic quote always impresses me everytime. I just think it´s perfect. And it´s also present in a very funny scene in this last one. Just check it out. It´s hilarious. Climbing to number one with 94502 spectators in the first week would be impressive but not for superman and it´s 200 million dollar invstment. The average of 1243 doesn´t impress either comparing it with the more than 2300 average of this year´s Pirates of the Caribean. SInce i seen the numbers for it´s second i can also say that it isn´t good news for our hero. But that´s another story.
The New Players:
"Ask the Dust" hit number 13th with an estimate of 3094 spectators and that meaning a 619 average per theather/week. Not very impressive for Mr.Farell. Expect it to disapear very quickly. And without much delay in three weeks.
This Week Winner Film:
And the award goes to Hoodwinked" that in it´s second week managed a smallish 1% drop. Impressive week indeed and another homerun for animation in Portugal. As i said before we just can´t stop seeing them even if they suck.
This Week Looser:
And the award goes to "The Break-Up". Once a winner today a looser. Happens to everybody.
And this will be a normal feature now in the box-office.
So see you next week.
